Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Sweety and I spent the day at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.  The peonies are blooming and are pretty incredible.

We had a super fun day.
Wisteria is one of my favorites.

Love

I know - puke.  But I couldn't help it.  I really like this guy.  And I really like the photo.  After all our work was done in Chicago we got one really nice afternoon to walk around and enjoy the city, and each other.

Train to Chicago

Sweety and I took the train to Chicago.  This is a very early breakfast in the dining car after a long night on the train.  All of my romantic ideas of train travel have been destroyed by Amtrak.

Knuckle tattoos

I tattooed Sweety's knuckles.  It was incredibly stressful but it came out ok.  If you can't duck it, fuck it.

Passover

I had to post this.  This is my cousin Randy aka the great Randini making matza levitate.  By far my most favorite part of passover.
I'm the butcher - of course.

I started this garter design on Gabrielle this week.  She sat like a trooper through some really rough stuff.  One more sitting to go.

Lunch at Peels

I had lunch at Peels with my mother.  My dear friend Jason is the chef de cuisine there.  He is so incredibly talented and his food is inspired and always delicious.  We had his biscuits with sausage gravy.  Amazing.
And Jason made us a train trip survival kit.  Cured meats, Pate, roasted pork.  We are going to make the other passengers very jealous.

Bio Food Dinner

I went to a dinner with Culinary Nutritionist Eli Katz.  It was really interesting and he made super delicious and interesting food.
This is a radish pasta with parsley, peanut, olive oil ragu.  Incredible and the most beautiful color.
For the main course we had poached egg with caramelized onions, shrimp with garlic puree, and roasted sweet potato.  Yummy.
Eli is wildly impressive.

Becca from Essex

I got tattooed by Becca from Jayne Doe tattoo in Essex, UK.  She gave me a truly beautiful tattoo and I am completely in love with it.  I have admired her work for a while now and it was really amazing to get something from her.  She was truly lovely to hang out with and I am already trying to figure out when I can go to England to have my other hand tattooed.  The photo is not great, and yes my hand is swollen beyond belief, but I post better pics once it's healed.

Collaboration with Karen Rockower Glass

Karen and I finished our collaboration finally.  I'm super happy with how it turned out.  We had a blast working on Erin and we both feel a little sad that its over.  Hopefully Erin will want us to collaborate on something again in the future.
