Flowery half sleeve

I finally got to start this half sleeve on Therese.  I'm so excited about the drawing and the way it looks on her arm.  I had such a great time outlining it, I can't wait to work on it again.

This makes me smile

Photographer Seth Casteel made these images of dogs underwater.  My husband showed them to me when I was having a particularly rough day.  They completely cracked me up.  I had to share them.  The bulldog is so my favorite!

I recently used this picture of my father for a reference challenge.  I love it so much I decide to share it here.

In love with Brooklyn

It's always hard to come home from vacation, but I love where I live which makes it a little easier.  Brooklyn is amazing and I feel so happy to live here.

Puerto Rico with The Glasses

We arrived in Puerto Rico and immediately found our way to the pool bar.
Three days of beach . . .

Sightseeing in old San Juan . . .

And lots of hanging out at the pool bar. One of the best vacations ever!

Text on ribs

This was apparently text on ribs day and also anatomical heart week.  The heart on the left still needs color.

Obsessed with Apples

When we were on our raw diet my amazing husband made us apples with raw honey and cinnamon.  We have become completely obsessed, and have had apples almost every night this week.  He has certainly perfected his presentation!

Collaboration with Karen Rockower Glass

Karen and I were asked to collaborate on a tattoo.  Neither of us had ever done that before but we were excited to have the chance.
We worked together on the drawing which was challenging and fun.  I drew the skull and Karen drew the flowers and locket around it.
I set up the station . . .
Karen did the stenciling . . .
And we took turns tattooing Erin, who was an incredibly good sport through the whole process.
Overall it might have been the most fun day I have ever had at work.
We finished the outline.  I feel so excited for the next sitting!

Raw Food Continued

We have continued on with our raw food adventure.  We went to the Meat Hook in Williamsburg and got the most beautiful beef I've ever seen.
That place is incredible!  We made steak tartare with a quail egg again and it was delicious.
After dinner Sweety made us some apple slices with raw honey and cinnamon which was also super yummy.
Overall the raw thing has been really easy and I feel a little sad that it will soon come to an end.  I also feel really excited for a pork chop!

Raw Food

My Friend Karen has been doing a raw cleanse for almost a month now.  Watching her has been really inspiring.  So Sweety and I decided to try it and we are now about a week in.

These are quail eggs.  We have been eating them raw . . .

. . . on top of steak tartar.  So far it's been really interesting.  The first few days I felt like I was drunk all the time.  Now my system seems to have adjusted and I am feeling pretty good.  More to come . . .
